This poster depicts the cartoon character Bea Alerte wearing a red suit, white heels, white pill box hat and a purse, and Justin Case in a black suit, white fedora, and a sweater, both sporting the logo Civil Defence Canada. They are hurriedly carrying a stretcher toward a man and woman who are trapped in a mound of dirt and broken building materials. The injured woman has blonde hair and is wearing a disheveled yellow shirt, red skirt, only one shoe and is missing an earring. The injured man has black hair, and his red socks and soleless shoe are poking out from the bomb crater. The drawing depicts their injuries by the use of stars and puffs of smoke above their heads; both characters have pained expressions on their faces and scrapes on their bare arms and legs.
